Ommurti, born in the Netherlands, has been practicing physical yoga for over 12 years. Her real journey on the yogic path started in 2009 when she first visited a traditional Indian ashram.

She started studying yoga philosophy, living a yogic lifestyle and experienced the true benefits of yoga: a calmer mind, more peace within and a pure sense of joy.
Yoga became a very healthy addiction for Ommurti and she lived in ashrams in India, New Zealand, Greece and the US.

Ommurti did her first 200 hour teacher training in 2013 at the Sivananda ashram in South India. She spend 1 year teaching and running the Sivananda center in Chelsea, Manhattan. She continued her yogic studies at Integral Yoga Institute in West Village, Manhattan. Here she took Intermediate Teacher Training and learned to further integrate yoga into her daily life.

Ommurti became a 500-hour yoga teacher by completing Advanced Teacher Training at the Sivananda Ashram in Vietnam.
She also completed a 200 hour Yoga Nidra Teacher Training at the Shankar Prasad Ashram in India.

Additionally she has received training in Iyengar, Satyananda Yoga and Mindfulness. Because of this combination her classes are based in traditional hatha yoga with powerful instructions for alignment, the breath and a meditative awareness.
